Share a favourite book which has increased your happiness level – you have 3 minutes to booktalk a much-loved “read”. Enjoy a morning cuppa and discover great books which have influenced lives.

The Rockhampton Regional Library is presenting the Reader’s Guide to Happiness where you can share your favourite book, join a passionate debate about what makes us tick as readers, a live webcast from the Ideas Festival at the State Library of Queensland of Modern trends: Can fashion drive social change? plus a workshop that will show you how to increase your personal happiness.

12pm Modern trends: Can fashion drive social change?

The Social Studio is a dynamic space in Melbourne where clothing is created from the style and skills of the local young refugee community. Join teacher Milly Gamlin and student Nicole Kuol in a live webcast from the Ideas Festival at the State Library of Queensland. They will share how The Social Studio challenges the fashion industry and empowers young people to achieve their dreams through social enterprise.

1pm A readers’ guide to happiness seminar

An erudite panel of authors, readers and happiness coach Kelly Rochow from the Positive Psychology Institute will discuss the burning question – Can reading really make you happy? Join in the passionate debate about what makes us tick as readers. Enjoy drinks and nibblies and mingle with others on the readers’ voyage of discovery.
